But then, I don’t have an internet-ready phone, either. I don’t feel the need to be that constantly connected, but I recognize that others do. And others also think it’d be way cool to look like Tom Cruise (in Minority Report, I mean, not jumping on Oprah’s couch…)

Love this technology idea. I am a huge fan of the instant access to data. I will be the first in line for the direct neural interface to the web.

On other notes, I am glad to see the continuation of the cast. I was a little distraught after reading the last post. Keep it up… I don’t even have an iTunes account to comment with. I will work on that sometime this week if not I will try and get it done on my travel days.

I work with 11 operators who really need to be able to handle measuring in 1/32″. With some smacking around, I can get 5 of them to do it. If we used milimeters, instead of inches, I am sure I could get those 5 to do it without the smackings.

The other 6 are just hopeless, so, no matter there.

Clearly as the technology advances, the way we pass on our information will need to become more efficient. The Dvorak keyboard, for example, being faster for the modern keystroking on machines which don’t have the cock-ups with levered type sets will probably be the direction we go in… of course, here in the states, we still use the English measurement system, because the metric system is much too… simple (?)… to understand…

But what happens when the next generation comes along? Are we going to teach them, first keyboarding so that they can type, and then the brain training so that the crown can tell what they are typing?

We certainly could develop better interfaces, but what worries me is that we are still using the QWERTY keyboard instead of something that has been optimized for faster and more efficient computer input. The QWERTY layout is optimized for a mechanical keystrike type of typewriter that we no longer use. And yet, here we are, stuck with an inefficient method because of … ?

In other words, great topic! You really got me thinking.

I have used the bone induction headsets with a two way radio. They are awesome because you literally hear the sound in the center of your head. Best headset I have every used.

Second… sounds like you were talking about Cylon Projection there for a bit! What a way to live doing one thing that you hate doing and believing and seeing you are doing something fun and exciting.

2. It makes me livid that “they” decided to reorder the Chronicles of Narnia. So stupid. Aaaaaaaaaah!

3. I somehow never managed to read the rest of the series, but Darkness of Sethanon was awesome. And I dug the Janny Wurts collab series.

4. I love Weis & Hickman, but the original Dragonlance trilogy is the best they’ve ever done. That series makes my hair stand up.

5. Sandman is awesome because it touches everything and yet it rarely involves Morpheus but somehow everything does. This goes in the pile of awesome that makes me cry on multiple read throughs. Like the end of season one of Farscape. But that isn’t fantasy.
