It was a good the off the bridge showing of who they are. I agree that in some ways each of them are similar but I have to agree with most of your comments on the specific people. Those that are just acted within the role and those that really embodied the role as ‘Captain’.

Watching CPT. Picard greatly effected my life… he was a perfect icon of leadership. To this day when I think of what a leader should be I think of Picard and the presence he commanded.
At no point during the 7 season run of TNG did I ever feel like the ship or the series was lost, drifting, or trying to find there place. Most of the other series had some of those times during their runs. I chalk that up to Sir Patrick’s way of keeping everything in line.

Don’t get me started on Voyger I still haven’t been able to watch them all. Start of the first season is as far as I have gotten.

I don’t think of Scott Bacula in Enterprise as one of the Star Trek shows. prequels rarely work well and this one is not an exception.

There were two scary movies that have effected me my whole life.
For some reason E.T. scared the hell out of me as a kid and still does.
The movie IT has caused me to never be able to see a clown and not think of that movie.

I liked reboot back in the day. It was a really cool… almost a Tron like cartoon. without the people.

Google Voice is awesome!!! I have 3 phone numbers that ring to my Cell phone because of google voice. I keep my personal Business , Personal, and Companynumbers seperate. Keeps different voicemail greetings for each . Sounds more professional. I have even set it up for several other people in the past. For a consultant fee of course.

As awesome as the freedom to be wildly imaginative is, the problem with free form comes with conflict resolution. With no rules, who decides who’s imagination rules?

Which is why being a storyteller is the best form of free form RPG. I think I’ve heard some of Lejon’s free form RPG games in the form of No One S.E.L.F.

First off — fun, as always.

Regarding comments: What I lack in frequency, I make up for in verbosity…

1. Yeah, I’ve been listening for a while, but I’m not always good on the whole “remembering what comments I wanted to make” thing. I decided to try taking voice notes on my phone right after I got done listening — we’ll see how it goes, but so far so good.

2. Personal preference item: I get the whole “it’s us having a conversation” dynamic that it helps enforce, but for the love of all things holey (like swiss cheese, for example), could you do me a favor and drop the right-speaker-Bob, left-speaker-Fondeux thing? I tend to do all my ‘cast listening on my phone, while doing things like grocery shopping. I usually only have one earbud in, so I can have some awareness of what’s going on around me. This week’s ‘cast was… difficult, in that regard.

3. As a side note, a joke here around the mcHomestead (stemming from me misunderstanding The Boy) is to refer to parmesan cheese as “Farmer John cheese” — which struck me as suddenly funny during the “Blame Fondeux” bit, with the reminder of the whole “John Melted Cheese” meaning. All Fondeux needs to do is start playing crappy farming games on Facebook, and we’ll have come full circle.

4. Turns out the DOJ isn’t really happy with Apple’s new EULA, either — seems that they feel they’re using their dominance in the mobile OS market to push their agenda in the desktop OS biz. Since there’s iPhone / iPad dev aspirations afoot, it might be something to keep an eye on before shelling out the Apple tax.

5. Don’t discount the Windows Phone Series 7 Phone 7 Series Windows 7 Series Phone Phones coming out later this year, either (no, *not* the Kin). While the OS name needs some work (and, admittedly, it’s better now that it’s really just “Windows Phone 7″), it’s looking like it’s going to actually be a good entry in the smartphone arena, and the dev tools are (a) free, and (b) pretty darn good. There’s every chance that one of these will replace my BlackBerry when it’s new phone time (1.25 years from now) (Thus Endeth the Microsoft Apologist portion of the comments).

So this is what I was thinking. You all touched on it a little bit with the upgrades idea then the cops needing upgrades to be able to deal with the upgraded criminals.
This one thing leads to another scenario would actually become the evolution of our species. Because the natural evolution would be altered and natural selection wouldn’t exist. We would find ways of upgrading ourselves to with technology to keep even the weakest links alive and thriving. Over time our species would depend solely on the technology for advances in humanity. We would become the Borg but hopefully without the kill everyone attitude.

Sign me up for the BOX!!! I think a lot of human brain’s potential is lost just because the correct or not enough information is available. If we had more direct access to data then we each would be able to work at a higher capacity. Give me the WiFi brain implant so i can look up info faster… I could imagine being able to think of a topic and just having data stream in to my head about that topic… Very Very COOL!!!

BTW… Used Google Wave for a business collaboration / brainstorming session this week. I was surprised how awesome it worked. There were two of us writing the same doc at the same time. It was very cool… Downfall: no really good way to get it in to a word doc after it was done. I found a way… not a easy way. I will have to write a blog about it.

FYI… This has happened a few times to me but my pod catcher sometimes pulls the cast as double its posted size and length(it doubles the entire cast when listening too). It my be the catcher but it only happens ever so often and only with this feed.
